Have you ever wondered what happens when the living goddess Kumari smiles at you? In Nepal, the Kumari is a young girl chosen to be a goddess until she reaches puberty. She lives in a special house called the Kumari Ghar in the heart of Kathmandu. Today, the Kumari of Kathmandu is named Trishna Shakya. She was chosen in 2017 at the age of 3 and will remain the Kumari until she reaches puberty or shows signs of serious illness or major loss of blood (source: The Kathmandu Post).
